Stronger Than Stigma - An Event to Remember
The Foundation launched our first Stronger Than Stigma event on June 6th and we were met with overwhelming generosity and support from the community. With the help of 230 attendees, 23 sponsors, Gracepoint Board members and staff, and some amazing volunteers - the event raised more than $107,000 to support Gracepoint programs and our Andrew Lutes Endowment! We cannot express enough our gratitude to everyone who helped make this night so special.
THANK YOU to our title sponsor, Bank of Tampa, for helping us launch our first Stronger than Stigma event.
THANK YOU to our theme sponsor, Tampa Triumph, the biker theme brought the crowd to life and made the event fun and enjoyable.
THANK YOU to our special guest speaker, Justin Peck. Justin candidly shared his story of personal struggle with mental illness and his perspective as a parent with children who also battle mental illness and addiction. Justin inspired the crowd with his passion and mission to end the stigma around mental illness to that everyone who needs help can get it.
To the 78 attendees who chose to “Raise their Paddle” for the Andrew Lutes Endowment, THANK YOU! Together, you raised more than $42,000! The wave of emotion felt throughout the raise the paddle was the highlight of the evening for many. We want to recognize and thank Paula and Bill Lutes for their passion and commitment to our mission. Proceeds from the raise the paddle benefit our Andrew Lutes Endowment, which supports critical services and programs for children at Gracepoint.
Stronger than Stigma was a huge win for mental health awareness in our community. To everyone who donated auction items, time and effort to make this event a success, we THANK YOU! Together, we are #StrongerThanStigma.
